Albert Glinsky

Elegy, for Piano

World Premiere: October 4, 1982, Tibor Szasz, Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Albert Glinsky's Elegy for piano might be termed an "elegiac fantasy." It is a classical embodiment of abstracted jazz elements, and is  constructed in a basic three-part form (ABA). The Elegy is one of Glinsky's most widely performed pieces.
